Today

Care under one roof

ENT, dermatology, physiotherapy and more now sit beside the flagship Eye Department.

Muhammadi Medical Trust was established in 1979 by Muhammad Shafique Janjua along with the group of devout and philanthropic individuals. Initially, it operated as a small dispensary, but as patient numbers increased, it was relocated to a larger building and sought the expertise of doctors specializing in diabetes, cardiology, and ophthalmology, in addition to general practitioners. In a short time, it gained national recognition and patients from all over the country began seeking treatment. With the increasing number of eye patients, the community in Lahore came together to construct a spacious, state-of-the-art hospital equipped with modern facilities. Departments of ENT, Dermatology, Physiotherapy and Nutrition were added to meet the growing demand for specialized care.

Future plans

Unit 1 expansion

New floors for physiotherapy, general OPD, cardiac care, dentistry, theatres and a ward.

Unit 2 upgrades

Capacity and teaching spaces so the Trust can keep pace with rising demand.

Care and training

High-quality treatment while preparing the next generation of clinicians.

To accommodate the rapidly increasing patient load, Muhammadi Medical Trust is undertaking a major expansion of Unit 1, which includes dedicated floors for physiotherapy, general OPD and diabetic/cardiac care, dentistry, dermatology, surgical theatres, and a basement ward, while also planning upgrades for Unit 2 due to surging demand. Patient visits rose by 25% from 2023 (167,378) to 2024 (209,067), with eye check-ups increasing by 20% (125,923 to 151,382), general OPD by 43% (34,301 to 49,210), and specialized procedures (surgeries, cardiac, ENT, etc.) by 18% (7,154 to 8,475). With Unit 1's expansion expected to further boost patient numbers in 2025, Unit 2 will also require enhancements to support both healthcare services and medical education, ensuring the Trust continues delivering high-quality care while training future medical professionals.
